EDII and Insurtech Australia today announced a partnership to bring EDII’s Digital Minds programmes to the Australian insurance market. Digital Minds Evolve – the leadership-focused programme in the series – will be the first to run in Australia, taking place at the InterContinental Double Bay in Sydney on 11-12 August 2026, with further programmes to follow.

Digital Minds Evolve is part of EDII’s Digital Minds programme suite, which has been running in the UK insurance market since 2021. Hundreds of insurance professionals have come through the programmes, with alumni from organisations including Allianz, Aon, Beazley, and Markel. Evolve is the leadership-focused programme in the series – designed for insurance professionals with real problems to solve and the influence to do something about them.

The programme comes to Australia at a moment when the market is under pressure from several directions at once. Climate losses, premium affordability, AI adoption, and a tightening regulatory environment are reshaping how Australian insurers operate. Workforce capability has risen to the third-ranked concern for Australian insurers in 2026, up from seventh in a single year.

Across two intensive in-person days, up to 25 delegates from insurers, brokers, and insurtechs will work through real industry challenges using design thinking, outside-in customer insight, and strategic ideation. They leave with a strategic direction they have built themselves and tools they can use immediately. Places are capped deliberately to ensure effective collaboration.

“The conversations we have had with people in the Australian market sound very familiar. The same challenges, the same appetite for development that actually changes how they think and operate. We have spent five years building something that works in the UK and we want to bring that to Australia – with people who know this market, not just people who’ve read about it. Partnering with Insurtech Australia gives us that.”
Caroline Bedford, CEO, EDII

The programme has been shaped with Insurtech Australia to reflect the specific challenges the Australian market is working through – AI adoption, embedded insurance, climate risk, and regulatory change. Australian industry experts will join the programme to bring live market experience directly into the room alongside EDII facilitators Caroline Bedford and Helene Stanway.

“In our work across the Australian insurance ecosystem, we identified a gap in bringing innovation to market to drive real change and efficiency. In supporting this programme, we look to strengthen capability and bridge the gap between insurers and insurtechs. This will be a unique opportunity through an intensive program to change mindsets and build deeper connections across the industry. We are excited to bring leading Australian experts and knowledge to make this proven programme relevant for future insurance leaders.”
Simone Dossetor, CEO Insurtech Australia

Digital Minds Evolve Australia is accredited by ANZIIF for up to 12 hours of CPD. The programme takes place at the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay on 11-12 August 2026. Places are limited to up to 25 delegates.
