Frequently Asked Questions

About EDII
What does EDII do?
How do I pronounce EDII?
EDII is an acronym for what we do – Educate, Develop, Innovate and Inspire.
We pronounce it “ED-EE”.
What makes EDII special?
EDII is not a tech vendor or a generic training provider. We are specialists in insurance innovation through people. What sets us apart:
- Insurance expertise – everything we do is designed for (re)insurance and regulated markets, so examples and casework are relevant.
- People-first focus – we don’t just teach tools; we change behaviours and mindsets so innovation sticks.
- CII recognition – our flagship programme, Digital Minds, is accredited for CPD and benchmarked against the CII Professional Map.
- Community impact – our alumni form an active, cross-market network, now strategically sponsored by CGI.
- Practical outcomes – delegates work on live business challenges, producing solutions that can be embedded back at work.
- Scalable offer – from short safaris to nine-month programmes, we match the right intervention to your goals.
In short, we combine deep industry understanding with proven learning design to build capability that delivers lasting business impact.
Do you work outside of insurance?
Our focus is insurance and adjacent regulated markets. Talk to us if your context is similar.
About Digital Minds
What is Digital Minds?
A nine-month hybrid development programme that equips those working in the insurance sector with design thinking, problem-solving, leadership influence and digital confidence.
Who should join?
High-potential and mid-career professionals across all areas of insurance, and in particular, people tasked with change, influence or on a leadership track.
How much time will I need?
Formal sessions are either a half day or full day a month. Your post session projects can take 2-3 hours a month to support your learning.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You don’t need any technical background to join our programmes. We bring to life emerging technologies such as AI, Digital Twins, IoT etc, but our motto is simple: technology is just a tool. What matters is understanding the use case—the business problems, challenges and opportunities—and applying the right solution with confidence.
Is it CPD registered?
Yes. Digital Minds is accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) for CPD. It is also benchmarked against the CII’s Professional Map, ensuring the programme develops recognised professional capabilities and contributes to structured CPD hours.
How often do you run cohorts?
Twice a year – commencing April/May, Sept/October.
How far in advance do I need to book?
As early as possible. Many organisations renew delegate places each year, and we operate a waiting list for new firms. Early booking secures your place and ensures alignment with your talent planning.
Where are the in-person sessions held?
Currently in London, with a new Manchester cohort launching in 2026. Hybrid access means international and remote delegates can participate fully without travelling to every session.

Other Training and Services
Do you offer short, high-impact learning?
Yes. Alongside our flagship Digital Minds programme, EDII offers a range of short, practical learning experiences designed to create immediate impact:
- Digital Safari – a 90-minute virtual session that demystifies emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, Digital Twins and Web3, showing how they can be applied in insurance.
- Curiosity & Insights for Insurance – a half-day, in-person workshop that develops questioning skills, challenges assumptions and teaches delegates to reframe problems using design thinking.
- Bespoke masterclasses – custom sessions on topics such as innovation leadership, creativity under pressure, or customer-centric product design.
These formats are ideal for teams who want to build awareness quickly, spark new thinking, and test appetite for longer programmes. They can also be run as standalone events or as part of a broader EDII partnership.
Can you design something bespoke for our firm?
Alongside our flagship programmes, EDII designs and delivers tailored innovation initiatives for insurers and brokers who want to build capability inside their organisation.
These include:
- Hackathons & sprints – intensive sessions where teams tackle live business challenges, applying design thinking and rapid prototyping.
- Innovation competitions – structured campaigns to surface, refine and showcase ideas across the business.
- Champion programmes – equipping selected employees to act as innovation ambassadors, embedding tools and behaviours into everyday work.
- Leadership workshops – helping senior teams set strategy, create a culture of innovation, and sponsor new ways of working.
- Digital Safaris & masterclasses – exposing employees to emerging trends such as AI, Digital Twins, Web3 and IoT, and translating them into practical insurance use cases.
All bespoke programmes are co-designed with you to align with your strategy, culture and business objectives—ensuring innovation is not just inspiring, but embedded and measurable.
Can EDII help my organisation make sense of AI?
Yes. We design programmes that help insurance organisations explore how AI can be used responsibly and effectively. This includes:
- Understanding priorities – clarifying where AI fits within your strategy and what problems you actually need to solve.
- Identifying use cases – mapping opportunities in underwriting, claims, operations and customer experience.
- Building confidence – giving teams the language and tools to engage with AI specialists and vendors.
- Practical exploration – using examples and low-code tools to experiment safely before scaling solutions.
Our focus is always on business outcomes, not technology for its own sake—helping your people see AI as a tool to address challenges and create measurable value.
