The latest edition of Personal Finance Professional (Autumn 2025) features an article from Vanessa Riboloni, Head of Research & Insight at the CII, whose work is helping the CII shape the future of careers across financial services. In “Shaping Careers”, Vanessa explores insights gathered from recent workshops on the future of financial planning careers – examining how professionals enter, progress, and thrive in our sector.
EDII is proud to have supported Vanessa and the CII in this work. Alongside workshops in both insurance and financial planning, these sessions used EDII’s Design Thinking approach to bring professionals together to reflect on their journeys, surface barriers, and co-create ideas for a more agile and resilient profession.
The CII’s leadership in capturing and analysing these insights has been vital. The resulting themes – from the need for clearer progression routes to the importance of culture, mentoring and future-focused skills – are now helping shape a vision of a profession where people choose careers in financial planning, rather than fall into them by chance.
At EDII, we specialise in the people side of transformation: equipping regulated markets with the skills and future-focused capabilities needed to adapt and grow. Our collaboration with the CII across insurance and personal finance reflects a shared commitment to developing agile, forward-looking career pathways that support the long-term strength of financial services.
